A reel can do a hundred thousand views and put nobody on your calendar. That is not a failure of the edit - it is usually a sign that the video was made to be watched rather than made to be acted on.
Views are a means, not the result
Reach only matters if the people reached are the people who could buy from you. A video that goes wide to the wrong audience is a cost, not a win. We would rather a video reach ten thousand of the right people than a hundred thousand of the wrong ones, and we report on which one happened.
The missing step is almost always the ask
Most content stops at the value. It teaches something, it entertains, and then it ends. If a viewer is convinced at that moment, there is nothing for them to do. The fix is rarely a hard sell - it is making the next step obvious and small.
What we do instead
We plan a month of content against one number: did the calendar fill up. That means some videos exist to reach people, some exist to build trust with people who already found you, and some exist purely to convert. Judging all three by the same metric is how good content gets cut for the wrong reasons.
